Dear Steve,

Thank you so much for inviting me down to play and for taking such good
care of us the other day. I truly appreciate your hospitality and making
us feel very well taken care of and welcomed - we had an absolute blast
with you guys. That is not usual in this industry, and I want you to know
that it is really appreciated. It would be a pleasure to play there again.

Any time you would like me to do that voice "The Lovely Steve Ellis" just
give the word!

Please thank your whole station, your DJ's for all the support on my
behalf.

It was a pleasure to meet you, and we'll be in touch..
Take good care

Hey... great station. I'm in Columbus and it's nice to hear the
alt/indie stuff I would be missing out on otherwise.

Quick question... I was driving around today between 8 am and
9 am and heard a song that involved a lyric (possibly... I could be
mistaken) that sounded something to the extent of "like the water." I
was just curious if you either knew the song or could provide a playlist
from that time.

Thanks a lot -- keep up the great music!

Hi guys/gals, great radio station as usual. It's amazing that it has
stayed so good and consistent through many different generations of State
students. I love plugging you in to do work around the house. Upset
today because I can't get real player feed to work. Anyway, keep it up.

Hey yall. I have long thought that this was the best radio station in the
state. I would listen when I came to Starkville and I just had the
epiphany to see if I could listen online. I was so happy when I found you.

WMSV,
First off let me say thank you for playing my music and giving me a
chance. I dropped my cd off a couple of months ago and was hoping for good
news like this. I'm currently serving in Iraq at this moment and hope to
be home by next June. I just happen to be looking at the website and seen
"Mississippi" at no.43 on the play list. It means everything to me that
my home school is building a foundation for my dreams. I hope some success
can become of this, but it is great to know that you have done more than
your part. Thank you again!

Go State,

I listened to WMSV through my undergrad years--as long as I could get
reception on my lengthy commute to home in Aberdeen and work in Tupelo.
And I would occasionally catch it online when I moved to USM and then to
LSU. Now that I'm in New Zealand, I appreciate it all the more. Not only
do you play great music, I love hearing the comforting southern accents
between songs! Makes me miss home....

Keep up the good work!

Thanks,

I wanted to thank WMSV for the pleasurable listening experiece I enjoyed
this past Saturday while driving in your listening range. As always, you
provided a very good aray of AAA music, which broke up the monotney of the
CD collection I had been listening to.

I have been on the air before at MSV. In Summer 2001 I was attending
classes at MSU and wandered over to the station one afternoon. Your staff
was very courteous and allowed me to sit in the studio and watch the
ongoings. Shortly after I became a default weather broadcaster and brought
the listeners the daily weather report each afternoon. It was a blast and
that experience helped me get on with another station in 2003, where I
spent two exciting years in operations.

Again, I always enjoy the mix provided by WMSV and always tune into 91.1fm
when driving through East Central Mississippi.

Hey there my name is Tamara Bender and I listen to the radio in the area.
I'm a loyal longtime listener of WMSV. I called your radio station and
did some research to get your email. I hope you don't mind. Anyway, I
heard a song that either you guys played or I found on Myspace. It was by
"The Red Button" and it was really catchy and cool. If memory serves the
track was called 'Cruel Girl.' Please keep up the good work and if you
could play that song again you'd be my savior. Thanks!

Have a good one,

Hey guys

Just wanted to send out a huge "Great job" to you all there at WMSV. I am
a chef here at the Oktoc Grill in town and keep you guys pumpin throughout
the restaurant all day; many kudos to the music, the personality and
overall experience. I came here from Boston and the fact that your
spinning some of the grooves that kept me going there makes it so much
easier to adjust. Sounds crazy, but very true.

Keep up the great work !

Love the station. I listen online here in Sarasota, FloriDuh.

The night time girl is REALLY LOUD and distorted. Maybe she is just
tooooo close to the mike. I don't know. Anyway, correct that, and WMSV
is the greatest thing since, um something about milk, can't remember
now.

The people during the day sound fine.

Thanks for everything

Hey: I learned to love music listening to the old WMSB. I was home for
Christmas, and found WMSV on the car radio. Just wonderful, as always. I
got back to Sarasota, FloriDuh, and found you on the web.

A quick Real Player download and install, and Viola! I can be on campus
all the time. Wow, makes me want to move back. I graduated from MSU in
Electrical Engineering. There is a publicly supported station nearby, in
Tampa, WMNF, but it's just not the same.

Thanks

Hi guys.
I was driving back to Destrehan, La. from Macon, Ga.,stopping at my inlaws
in Columbia, Ms to bring them food after Katrina on a balmy Sunday
afternoon in late September. While looking for the Ms. PBS station I
discovered WMSV. The music you were playing made my drive into the New
Orleans area much more bearable. Unable to reach my husband on the
telephone I pulled over and wrote down your interenet address and
continued listening to WMSV. As soon as I arrived home I couldn't stop
talking about the music being played on your station. And then I started
noticing the devastation Katrina left us with. Now that we have cleaned
up (and are lucky to have a home) we are looking forward to listening to
your station via internet.
Thanks for being there.

Hello, Steve and the rest of the Staff

I am Sam Shouse of Birmingham, AL (MSU, BSEE, 1984). One of the great
things about MSU in my days there was that we had a great campus radio
station...WMSV. I discovered WMSV on the internet several years ago and
alerted all of my old roommates (Houston, TX; Boston, MA; Seattle, WA;
Tampa, FL) that they could pick up the broadcast, wherever they might be.
I received calls from all of them and they were as excited as I was. The
quality was still there. You're much better than the commercial radio
programming that we're getting in our urban areas.

Keep up the good work. It's good to see you back on the internet.

Sincerely,

Sam Shouse

Hi, I heard that a contest was going on for listeners from the farthest
away. Seeing as Saskatoon isn't too close to Mississippi, I figured I'd
throw my name in. Great station, by the way.

Hey WMSV!! I am from Waco, TX and go to Baylor University. I don\'t even
listen to my own hometown station anymore. Ever since I heard Teresa on
the air, I have been a huge fan. The word is spreading down here and I
just wanted to say keep it up WMSV. Y\'all are doing great things.

I love this radio station! I listen in from Ft. Worth, Texas! All the
students at TCU (Texas Christian University) are talking about what great
music ya\'ll play! Keep it up!

Hey guys

I\'m over in Idaho listening on the web. Thought if you guys could play
some dar williams or gillian welch - I\'d really appreciate it.

I\'m actually a MSU student a long way from home. It\'s nice having the
familiarity of the air waves at least.

Thanks

I graduated from MSU in 2000 and 2004 (glutton for punishment I guess) and
have been listening to WMSV for years. Now I'm in Hattiesburg and I make
it a point to tune in on the web whenever I can. Jazz Sunday is a
standard part of my family's lives. Thanks!

Although I did not attend MSU nor have ever stepped foot in Starkville,
I've been streaming your station at work in Jacksonville, FL for almost 1
month now. One of the better college radio stations on the Internet.
Truly enjoy the variety of music, diversity of information and format.

Just wanted to say thanks!

Hey WMSV,
I'm originally from Columbus and went to MSU from 1974-1978.
I now live in Ridgewood, NJ (about 20 NW of NYC).
I am loving WMSV-better than what's around here-it's true.
Steve Ellis, you're doing a great job !!!
I even love hearing your commercials--I went to high school with Jim
Beaty/Backstage Music. A great taste of home when so far away.
Listening to you right now. Thanks.

You guys have always had a great station!

I'm listening from South FL......both Hypoluxo, FL (33462) and Naples, FL
(34104).

Please make sure that Rick's Cafe keeps the "Blues Night" going on Fridays
around the MSU/FL weekend. It will be my first visit for the 2004
football season and I would definitely check it out. I use to listen to
WMSV on Sunday nights for blues while attending MSU. I graduated in May
2000....the best years for MSU football! Glad to have been there for
those 4 years and enjoyed your station all 4.

Keep it up!

Hey there!

Listening at work from Cambridge, Massachussetts...
Would love to hear some of my dear friends, YAJ or PRRD.
I miss Starkville so much, but WMSV online helps!

Thanks!

I live in Plainfield. Illinois (outside Chicago).
Unfortunately, I work for a small, Catholic University (Lewis
University) that prevents us from streaming at work. But I have been
listening from home on the weekends and on weeknights!

HI, I'm listening from Gordo, Al. I'm a MSU grad from long ago and
enjoy having an alternative to the dreck that's on comercial radio most
of the time. Keep up the good work.

Wanted to let y'all know that the Mississippi Business Journal editorial
staff in Jackson is listening to WMSV via RealPlayer 10.

Hi!

Just wanted to let you know that I listen to WMSV every day in Tempe, AZ
on my Mac. I am a 2000 MSU art grad and am now Art Director at Blufish
Design Studio in downtown Tempe, AZ, home of ASU and the Fiesta Bowl.
Here's my address - can't wait to see who is the longest distance
listener!

I checked out your web site for the first time in over a year or so and I
discovered that you guys are back live. I don't remember that you were
live via the web then. I was stationed at Columbus AFB for 18 months as a
reservist beginning in January 2002 (my home is California). WMSV was one
of the few pleasures I had. I am now using your top 100 as a guide to
downloading decent music from Apple I-tunes. Keep up the good work.

I, along with two other STATE grads, listen to WMSV online here in Tempe
nearly every day. It sure is nice to hear home.

Please add Campbellville, Ontario, Canada to your impressive list.
Thanks for providing so many enjoyable and eclectic broadcasts.
I'd be glad to display a WMSV sticker.

Years ago, Coach Ron Polk came to Toronto to talk at our annual coaching
clinic; I've been an MSU sportsfan ever since. Congratulations on
getting Coach Croom. He'll make an outstanding representative of MSU.

This is the original "Habanero!" in MERRITT ISLAND, FL. You got it
right, I am the biggest WMSV fan in Florida. I live on the Florida Space
Coast where I do the legal work to help NASA launch rockets and such.

Central Florida is a horrible radio wasteland. Finding WMSV on the
Internet was a Way Cool Relief. I listen to you most of the day, and KBCO
in Boulder CO is your competition.

Thanks for all the great sounds, truly World Class.

Hi,
I\'m probably one of the few people around that have been regularly
listening to WMSV since Day 1 in March 1994. At that time I was only a
year or so removed from retiring from the Coast Guard and had come home to
Starkville from my last duty station in New Orleans where (as a part-time
bartender near the Tulane campus) I had listened to WTUL (Tulane Campus
Radio) for 4 years. Coming back here I missed the alternative music
choice, so I was delighted when WMSV started up - and the rest as they say
is history. Anyway, if you have it - could you play me something from
\"Southern Culture on the Skids\". Maybe - \"My House has Wheels\" or
\"The Fly that Rode From Buffalo\".

Listening as always,

Jerry Wolf

Steve ... Thanks to you and your staff for making WMSV
broadcast available over the internet. Living in Southwest
Mississippi (Amite County), the area AM stations reduce their power at
night and we lose out on such broadcasts as Southern Sports Tonight
... I can click on WMSV and never miss anything! Being a MSU grad, it
also makes feel like I am back home. My daughter is in grad school
at the University of Florida and I have told her she can listen if she
desires. Thanks again ...

Bryant Barron, Liberty, MS.

I may be a Southern Miss grad (x2), but I find myself in the Starkville
often recently. In my travels around the state, the only time I turn off
my XM receiver is when I'm close enough to MSU to get your station.
Great variety of music, no "industry" agenda, and no dumb-ass "morning
show", "midday show" or "drive time programming\" to be found. Too
bad this little Starkville secret can\'t be shared statewide.

Do what you need to do to keep your funding and keep up the great station.
(And if you find some way to broadcast in the Jackson area, I assure you
that you'll gain a huge audience.)

The other night your DJ played several songs by Bela Fleck...Great Job!!!
The only problem is that his band is called the Fleck-Tones; not
Fleckstones. Just a minor annoyance that I wanted to point out. Great
music, keep up the good work!

I'm a '94 grad and used to live in West Point where WMSV was all I ever
listened to. When I moved to Jackson three years ago it hit me that even
though I was moving to a much larger city my radio choices just got much,
much worse. XM in the car fixed half of the problem and your streaming
broadcast fixed the other half. You guys are even better than most of the
indie-type stations on XM. Keep up the good work.
